alcohol in the workplace

Fresh Knowledge will work with clients to establish an Alcohol Policy within the workplace and help establish a good working practice for alcohol related issues. They will provide experience and knowledge in Alcohol Awareness and Prevention through workshops, lectures and seminars specifically developed to help management and employees understand and recognise the problems that can manifest through alcohol misuse and learn how to address them.

It is important that a policy is implemented to protect the company and staff from litigation, as well as minimising accidents, ill health, absenteeism and possibly insurance claims.

Fresh Knowledge assists companies to deal with existing alcohol dependency problems. The aim is to return staff to full health and work performance levels, thus preventing the unnecessary expense of recruiting and replacing staff.

Alcoholism is subtle; it strikes all types of people and affects them in all types of ways. Even if it is not an obvious problem, alcohol abuse may be affecting the efficiency of your company as well as costing it time and money.

Alcohol abuse impacts on Health and Safety and productivity levels. The challenge is for employers to identify the problems and to have alcohol firmly placed in their Health and Safety Policy. In many cases, your employees will not understand or acknowledge they have an alcohol abuse problem. All employers have a legal requirement to ensure the Health and Safety of their employees as laid out in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
